Our trip to New York

Frozen Hot Chocolate at Serendipity. If you are ever in New York, this is a must. We even sat in the same place as was filmed in the movie "Serendipity".
Columbus Circle. This is right on the corner of Central Park. Those are Wade's students in the background.

Alene and Lee in Times Square. It was about 0 degrees that night. Luckily, each day got warmer and warmer.

Walking across the Brooklyn Bridge. This is my third trip to New York City, and I have to say that this was on of the funnest things I have done there. It was a beautiful day. We started off riding the subway to Brooklyn. Buying half price tickets for a broadway show. Having pizza at the famous Grimaldi's and then walking over the bridge into Manhattan.

Josh is in the MTC

We dropped Josh off at the MTC today. It was a wonderful experience, it is still weird how they send the familes one way and the missionaries another. I guess it is like the MTC mission president said, you do it like you remove a bandaid, the quicker you do it, the less pain you experience.

His address in the MTC is:
Elder Joshua Jay Davis
Washington DC South Mission
Provo Missionary Training Center
2005 N 900 E
Provo, UT 84604

I will forward his emails to everyone when I get them.

Jenna's Busy Day

Jenna had a Saturday never to be forgotten, and thankfully she pulled it all off!  Here is a timeline:

  • 2:30 am -- arrive back home after trip to Salt Lake City and performances in the Tabernacle at Temple Square with both the Madison High School Choir and Orchestra
  • 7:15 am -- wake up  to get ready to take the ACT (for the second time) and look outside to see a driving Rexburg blizzard, or first of the year.
  • 7:30 am -- the power goes out on our block so we cannot print the ACT admissions ticket, so we run to Dad's Office to print it, but the power is out there as well.
  • 7:50 am -- we arrive at the ACT test site and plead for mercy, which is thankfully granted and she is allowed to take the test.
  • 8:00 am t0 12:00 noon -- Take the ACT
  • 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm -- Participate in the regional ballroom dance competition and have to compete with several partners, most of which are new to the ballroom dance world.  Thankfully, a couple of her partners are experienced and she wins 2nd place in Cha Cha, fourth in the Quick Step, and 4th in the Rumba (see video of cha cha finals at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yl5AEy2NCC8).
  • 6:30 pm -- Jenna is picked up for her date to the Christmas Formal (see pic)
  • Sometime around 1:00 am (the next day), she returns home and to bed, yeah!

Matthew and Aubrey Wedding Pictures

Well, the big day has come and gone and Matthew and Aubrey are off on their honeymoon.  We all had a great day in the Rexburg Temple and at our Rexburg reception.  We owe a lot of thanks to all those who helped out.  It was really a wonderful day.   Matthew and Aubrey are truly a happy couple and we wish them well!

Our visit to see Kelli in Roosevelt

Mom and I and the kids went to see Kelli in Roosevelt. We had a wonderful time being lazy and hanging out. We went to the dinosaur museum to see Bryce's dinosaurs that he made. On our way home from there we had lunch at the Stockman. We went and visited Bryce's grave. Brad's rice krispy treat was still there, but some four-legged thing got off with the slurpy. The kids swam in the hot tub. We had such a great time. Not to mention the delicious meal that Kelli and Michael made for us on Sunday. Great trip! Thanks Kelli for your great hospitality.
